COASTERS AND TILES

 

Our coaster and tiles are created by fusing.

Fusing is done in a kiln.  The piece is done using sheet glass and then creating a design
using frit (ground glass), confetti (very thin shards of glass), pieces of sheet glass, or even torchwork pieces. 

First the base tile or coaster is then fired in a kiln to a fusing heat of 1450º to 1480º. 
The piece may be fired and re-layered with more glass many times and even tacked at a heat of 1350º-1400º (which creates a
3 dimensional affect) to achieve the exact look of depth and color desired.
